Your placement on a specific program or project will be determined based on the programs requiring additional support as your start date approaches. Your organization’s staffing lead or manager will assess your skills and background to determine the best fit for you. They will provide you with information about your program o project placement as soon as it becomes available, typically within a few weeks of your start date.

Additional details, including specific project information and expectations, will be communicated to you as a part of your onboarding process.

I’m having technical issues accessing my offer. What should I do?

If you encounter technical issues while trying to access your offer, we recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Clear your internet history or caches.
  2. Try using a different web browser.
  3. Attempt accessing the offer on a desktop instead of a mobile device.
If you continue to experience difficulties accessing your offer or making a formal decision, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the recruiter listed in the signature block of your offer. They will be able to assist you further.

When do I complete my drug test?

Your assigned onboarding representative will provide you with a series of tasks that need to be completed as part of the onboarding process. One of the tasks, as a new employee, will be to complete your drug screening. You will receive specific instructions on how to schedule this screening at a location convenient to you, as well as information on what you need to bring with you to the appointment.

It’s important to note that your dug screening must be completed within 72 hours of the task being assigned to you by onboarding.  If you require an extension or have further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your assigned Onboarder. Despite marijuana’s legalization in certain US states, it remains illegal under federal law. Therefore, our company prohibits its use, even in locations where it may be legal under state law.

Will I be submitted for a Clearance?

The requirement for a Department of Defense (DOD) clearance varies depending on the program and business needs for our interns and entry-level positions. While many of these positions may require a clearance, it’s not a requirement for all.

If your position requires a clearance, your hiring manager will initiate the clearance process for you, typically within a few weeks of accepting your offer and completing your initial onboarding tasks. Once you’ve been submitted for clearance, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Enterprise Security Shared Services (ESSS).

Please be aware that all tasks within the clearance process are time-sensitive and must be completed promptly. Any delays in completing these tasks could potentially result in a delay in your start date. For more detailed information about the clearance process, you can refer to here.

Does Northorp Grumman provide housing for interns?

Northrop Grumman does not provide housing for our internship program. However, qualifying interns will receive a housing stipend to assist with the cost of housing and relocation for the duration of the summer internship.

While we do not offer specific housing recommendations, we encourage interns to join our Discord group based on location. This group serves as a networking platform where interns can connect with other areas, potentially find roommates, and share housing sources. Discord invites are typically sent out at the beginning of the year.

Ultimately, interns are responsible for securing their own housing arrangements. We recommend utilizing resources such as the housing stipend and the Discord group to facilitate the process.

Does Northorp Grumman provide relocation for entry-level positions?

Relocation assistance eligibility varies depending on the position. Your recruiter will provide you with specific details regarding relocation assistance, if applicable, as part of your offer package.

We recommend discussing any questions or concerns about relocation assistance directly with your recruiter, who will be able to provide information based on your situation and the requirements of the position.
