Security is something Albin knows well. He spent more than ten years in the U.S. Air Force Reserves Security Forces, deploying overseas twice. When transitioning to a civilian career, he again gravitated toward a security role, as a Principal Industrial Security Analyst and Palmdale Investigator at Northrop Grumman.
Here, he talks about that transition to a civilian role and how Northrop Grumman has supported that change.
Albin holds an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Purdue Global University and is currently in-progress to complete a Master of Business Administration.
How long have you been with Northrop Grumman? How did you hear about us?
I joined Northrop Grumman in January 2022. I heard that it was a good company to work for through one of my deployments and met a Northrop Grumman employee who talked highly about the company as well. This had always stuck with me, and I promised myself that I would look into the company when the time comes to transition to a civilian career.
What is your military background? How did your military background set you up for the role you are in now?
I joined the United States Air Force Reserves Security Forces in 2011 and was deployed overseas twice. I joined the Active Guard Reserve program in 2014 at Youngstown Air Reserve Station.
My military background is in Security. Naturally, I drifted towards my military profession and experience to look for an employment in the civilian sector. I was able to align my military experience to my current role at Northrop Grumman with ease.
What was your experience transitioning into Northrop Grumman as a veteran?
My experience has been really good. I was glad to meet so many veterans working for Northrop Grumman, as it was helpful for me to connect with these individuals and share relatable experiences.
What do you hope to gain from your new role?
I would like to perfect my role and develop my skills at the company. I’d like to use them to help the team grow and improve in an effective and efficient manner.
What advice would you give to other veterans interested in a career in Northrop Grumman?
One advice I would tell veterans that are interested in a career with the company is to look at your experience, knowledge and skills gained throughout your military career, and I am sure that they will align with Northrop Grumman’s work force. By joining our team, you will be able to continue to serve the nation after your time in the military.
