Thomas M. Schoewe was elected to the Northrop Grumman Board of Directors in 2011.
Schoewe was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. from 2000 to 2011.
Prior to his employment with Wal-Mart, he held several roles at the Black & Decker Corporation, including senior vice president and chief financial officer from 1996 to 1999, vice president and chief financial officer from 1993 to 1996, vice president of finance from 1989 to 1993, and vice president of business planning and analysis from 1986 to 1989. Before joining Black & Decker, Schoewe worked for Beatrice Companies, where he was chief financial officer and controller of one of its subsidiaries, Beatrice Consumer Durables Inc.
Schoewe serves on the board of directors of General Motors Corporation. He also serves on the board of the Ladies Professional Golf Association.
